How to Create a Cohesive Lighting Scheme

Our clients often ask us to work with them on complete lighting schemes, where complementary fixtures fit together in harmony. The natural finishes used throughout our lighting collections enables us to seamlessly pair wall sconces with chandeliers, floor lights with pendants and table lights with ceiling lights to achieve a refined and sophisticated result.

To provide an extra level of luxury, we carefully pair our fixtures paying close attention to the texture, metal finish, scale and proportion. This, combined with our signature ambient light effect, delivers a well-balanced scheme that lights a room with functionality and beauty. See how our Avalon Chandelier is paired with a decorative arrangement of Anvers Wall Lights; both showcasing the alabaster stone and playing on the perfect balance of solid and void space.

Avalon Halo and Anvers Wall Satin Brass

Marrying Materials

A central pendant or chandelier is often the anchor to any interior space. These light fixtures provide the all-important detail, pulling the scheme together and setting the mood for the furniture and wall treatment. Once selected, complementary wall, table and floor lights can be chosen in a corresponding tone, material, or finish.

Opposites Attract

The forms of the Nimbus Round Chandelier and the linear Artés Wall sconces are in total contrast yet are united by their noble materials. These natural materials of fritted glass, alabaster stone, brass, and bronze are combined with a muted palette, creating the perfect equilibrium, and adding a contemporary edge to a timeless interior. Each light is available in bronze and satin brass, so they can be used in the same finish or, as shown here, in two different finishes.

Classical Elegance

The organic rings of the Lunar Pendant have a similar design character to the artisan-made Braque Table Light base; both have a unique form and texture that exemplify the tactile metal finish. The metalwork for CTO Lighting products is never mass produced and is instead hand-cast or formed, and then polished or lacquered for extra finesse and quality. The silk or linen shade of the Braque gently diffuses and softens the lights, creating a welcoming ambience.

Feeling Retro

The matt opal shades and metal framework of Trevi are reminiscent of 1930s Art Deco glamour. Available in different sizes and as a standard or multi-arm version, these streamline pendants effortlessly take centre stage above any dining table, kitchen island or bar. Showcasing the same high-quality materials, and with a similar retro flare, is the new Gaia collection. These elegant, linear wall lights are the perfect partner to Trevi and can be used to great effect in the same lighting scheme.

Discs of Precious material

The textured alabaster stone of the Anvers Pendant, with its natural markings and unique veining, works in harmony with the crystal-like fritted glass of the Cielo Wall Lights. The comparable round domed shapes of these lights are also in perfect balance, and so can fit seamlessly within the same space. Both the Anvers Pendant and Cielo Wall Lights feature integral LEDs that are dimmable, providing a level of control – more brightness when it is required or a lower light when a more intimate atmosphere is required.
