Perched in the alpine landscape of Megève, this project by REFUGE redefines mountain living through warmth, texture, and quiet sophistication. Set within the historic Mont d’Arbois, a former collection of apartments has been reimagined as a single, unified home. The result is a sanctuary that balances contemporary clarity with the enduring spirit of alpine craft.
Throughout the chalet, layered materials shape a calm and immersive atmosphere. Weathered wood, greige tones, and mineral stone establish a tactile palette, while subtle metallic textiles introduce depth and movement. Every surface is considered, allowing materials and their reflections to interact with intention and restraint.
Lighting plays a defining role in this dialogue. In the living spaces, our NIMBUS Chandelier becomes a sculptural focal point, its fritted glass discs catching and diffusing light in a way that recalls both falling snow and the glow of firelight. The glass reveals its texture softly, bringing a sense of warmth and intimacy to the room. Complementing this, NIMBUS Wall Lights extend the composition across the interior, layering illumination to enhance volume, rhythm, and atmosphere.
Precise light design elevates each detail, from finely crafted furnishings to carefully placed decorative objects.
“The pieces of gold smithery between pecked bronze of the side tables, the onyx of the lamps or the fritted glass of the living room Nimbus Chandelier, deliver all their nuances through perfectly defined compositions” — REFUGE
Nothing is overstated. Instead, each element contributes to a sense of balance, comfort, and emotional resonance.
